Benjamin Zander was an inspiring speaker on leadership principles. His uniqueness lies in his ability to use classical music to explain leadership principles.
At the time, I did not know that he is famous in the classical music world. He is an English conductor who is currently the musical director of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
He gave a 20-minute presentation at TED2008 on the art of possibility and the transformative power of classical music.
He uses a piece of music by Chopin to demonstrate the importance of holding a vision. He encourages the participants to influence others and create “shining eyes”.
Benjamin Zander Interpretation Classes
I also enjoyed his interpretation classes; always enlightening even for people who do not play musical instruments like me.
