The I Surrender lyrics teach me to surrender my heart to the fullness of Jesus’ grace.
There is a hymn called All to Jesus I Surrender and the lyrics go like this:

I used to sing this song, thinking I can give my all to Jesus. Then I realized that I can’t. I meant to but I can’t. Not on my own strength and will power.
I thought I could “ever love and trust Him“. But I couldn’t. I forget frequently that I can trust Him. I rely on myself to fight for the things I want. Then I get all stressed up. The focus is on me. “I” was mentioned 8 times just in the short excerpt I used.
Unlike the hymn, this New Creation worship song taught me that I am surrendering to the greatness of His love. To the fullness of His grace. The focus is on His love and His grace. Not me.
Meditate on the lyrics and pray it to the Lord. Give thanks for His divine compassion.
