Jesus is the answer is a familiar phrase for many Christians. It is becoming more like a clique than a truth. It sounds too simple for our complex world today.
I began to appreciate the power of the phrase after listening to Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermon, “Why Jesus Is the Answer“. The short clip below captures an excerpt of the sermon that makes all the difference to me.
Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life in John 14:6. He said that there is only one thing needful in Luke 10:42: sit at his feet.
Whenever we face a challenge, instead of looking all over for solutions, look to Jesus. He will show Himself in a fresh way. A new revelation of Jesus brings fresh grace.
When Jesus is the answer, then the answer is not me
Recently I was vexed by circumstances in my life. I cannot change anything about the circumstances. It is beyond me. But instead of worrying and turning the situation around and around in my head, I realized I can cast my vexations to Jesus and go to Him. When I spend time with Him, the circumstances start to change.
When Jesus is the answer, then the answer is not someone else
When I trust and rely on family and friends, they can let me down. Not all the time but there are times they are not there for me. I can’t blame them, they are busy with their own lives too.
But, Jesus’ name means Immanuel, which means God with me. ALWAYS. When I realized that, I no longer feel alone and helpless to face my challenges. Jesus is there with me. ALWAYS
When Jesus is the answer, then the answer is not in man-made systems
I used to read a lot of self-improvement books. I thought that if only I can practice what they write, I’ll be a better person. But I always fail to keep practising. I last about 2 weeks, that’s it.
Now I understand that I cannot make myself better on my own or rely on man-made systems. God sees me perfect in Jesus Christ. And with Christ in me, I have the peace and power to become a better person.
After receiving the revelation, I began to appreciate this old song – Jesus is the answer by Andrae Crouch. It is an old rendition but so good.
