A missing you song, 如果没有你, expresses a sort of longing, missing someone, wishing they were here. The music is by 左安安 (Zuo An An) and lyrics by 李焯雄 (Li Zuo Xiong)
I didn’t know about this song when it was first launched in 2006 because I am not a Karen Mok fan and I have never heard it over the radio. I first heard it sang by Jam Hsiao. It stuck in my head and I found myself humming it as I work.
Hey, I missed you so It's starting to rain outside I feel like crying but I can't Wondering where you are now Hey, I missed you so I find it hard to express my emotions Where do I start Do you miss me too? If you weren't, I won't be sad But I'll still love you If you weren't, where would I be It's too late anyway, I'm lost hey, I missed you so Where are you now? Do you miss me too?
Cover by Jam Hsiao
I like both renditions. How about you?
I first heard this missing you song sang by Jam Hsiao 萧敬腾. It was in the album Love Moments, a collection of songs originally sang by famous female singers. Singapore’s Stephanie Sun and Tanya Chua made the list. Yeah!
It is interesting to see a young male singer cutting an album of songs made famous by leading female artists. Some of the songs are clearly meant to be sung by ladies. But Hsiao’s rendition is so good that I forgot all about that and just enjoyed the experience.
