I came across the Nethinim while reading Ezra 2:43 to 58. It contains the names of the temple servants who returned to Jerusalem. It reminds me of my fellow church servers.

My Quiet Time Drawer is inspired by the Road to Emmaus event in Luke 24:13-36.
It happened on the first day of the Resurrection where Jesus was raised bodily. Jesus walked with Cleopas and his companion from Jerusalem to Emmaus and explained the things which are written about Him in the Law of Moses, Prophets, and Psalms.
Jesus kept them from recognizing Him. Why?
Because it is more important to find and see Jesus in the Scriptures.
In my quiet time, I try to find Jesus in the scriptures. He said that it will be life and health to the reader as was promised in Proverbs 4:20-22.
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they [are] life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
This brought to mind the times when I received revelations from my personal bible study. When I discovered a nugget of truth myself, I felt warm, happy, and well. The Lord’s words are like medicine without side effects.
However, I also remembered times when bible reading was dry and boring. Again, the Emmaus event encouraged me. Cleopas and his companion were discouraged and sad. Jesus Himself drew near to them. Even though they do not understand the heart and plan of God, Jesus did not give up on them. He is eager to teach and help them understand.
Therefore, I should not give up my quiet time but press on. Even if the bible passage does not make sense because Jesus will definitely draw near and explain it to me.
I like the part about Jesus drawing near to me. :)
