Psalm 23:1-3
The LORD is my shepherd
I shall not lack
He makes me to lie down in green pastures
He leads me besides the still waters
He restores my soul
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake

My study bible says that green pastures are literally pastures of tender grass. Can you imagine lying on soft tender grass? How comfortable.

It also says that still waters are literally waters of rest. Can you imagine lying beside waters of rest? Not torrential and noisy but gentle soft guggling. So peaceful and relaxing.

A shepherd leads his flocks to yummy grass and sweet water. In the same way, the LORD leads me to the good ground. What’s more, he has to make me lie down. It seems that I am not willing to lie down. He got to make me. And when I lie down and rest, my soul is restored.

Ahhh, what a wonderful divine thought!

It reminds me of this Chinese worship song by New Creation Church inspired by Psalm 23
