The Restore lyrics goes, “Restore us! Darkness turns to light. You are light. You draw us closer to Your side”. It is the anthem for the year 2015: the Year of His Restoration.
The theme and anthem were inspired by these two verses in Joel.
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame.”
Joel 2:25-26
I believe most of us feel that we lost something in our life journey. Whether it is youth, health, money, relationships or opportunities. Regret or hurt, betrayal or disappointment.
Apply these two verses personally and find hope in the future. You may not get back exactly what you lost, but we can believe that Abba God shall restore to us the years that the locusts have eaten.
The swarming locust, the crawling locus, the consuming locust and the chewing locust. They all represent different ways we experience loss. From sudden to slow. From mass to individual.
All are covered. God doesn’t leave out anything.
