Will The Real Gospel Please Stand Up?

This post contains some of my thoughts on Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermon titled “Will the Real Gospel Please Stand Up?” In Jude 1: 3-4 3 Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. (ESV) Some Continue Reading

Enjoy Jesus’ Supply and Delight His Heart – A study of Luke 14 and 15

This short study on Luke chapter 14 and 15 is made up of highlights of a sermon entitled “Enjoy Jesus’ Supply and Delight His Heart” by Pastor Joseph Prince of New Creation Church, Singapore. Luke 14 contains some hard sayings by Jesus. For example, verse 26 and 27: “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”   Why did Jesus say these? Why Continue Reading

Faith is Superior to Law

This is my sermon note for Faith is Superior to Law, sermon preached at New Creation Church on 10 July 2011. I am called to live by faith and not obedience. Besides, obedience is a fruit, when I believe right, I can live an obedient life. Instead of relying on how I feel, I should wake up every morning thinking about what do I believe. In Luke 4:25-30, Jesus referred to 2 Old Testament (OT) stories to illustrate that grace is more important than the law. Both the widow in Zarephath and Naaman the Syrian were both non-Jews and according Continue Reading

Moving by Grace in the Holy Spirit’s gifts

Moving By Grace In The Holy Spirit’s Gifts – that’s the title of the 2 sermons for the last 2 weeks (12 and 19 June 2011) at New Creation Church. It wasn’t live preaching by Pastor Prince but a recording of a single session he delivered at the recent Servers’ Camp in Malaysia from 6 to 9 June 2011. When I first heard that Pastor Prince taught at the Servers’ Camp I felt disappointed that I couldn’t go. The disappointment was aggravated when I heard that Pastor Prince attended the Servers’ Camp because he saw a vision about the leaders Continue Reading

The language of faith

Pastor Joseph Prince taught about the language of faith on 30 October 2010. He has always emphasized that we need to ask our requests out loud, claim the Lord’s promises out loud and receive our blessings out loud. In this sermon, he demonstrated, through the scriptures, why Abba God is pleased with our expressions of faith. He understand that it can be awkward being so outspoken and fearing how people might think about us. He encouraged us that these outward expressions are not for man, they are for God. This is because faith is what God sees. Pastor Prince referred Continue Reading

The Road to Emmaus Experience

Pastor Joseph Prince explains the significance of the Emmaus experience in Luke 24:13-36 for the personal Christian walk during the service on 10 October 2010. Here’s my “digested” summary but first, the passage in question. Luke 24:13-36 13And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was [a]about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14And they were talking with each other about all these things which had taken place. 15While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them. 16But their eyes were prevented from recognizing Him. 17And He said to Continue Reading

The Whole Point Of Righteousness

The whole point of the gift of righteousness is that we can come boldly before Lord Jesus to fellowship and enjoy the blessings won by his sacrifice. That’s the message of today’s service. We knew this Sunday’s service wasn’t by Pastor Joseph Prince once we stepped into the entrance of the Rock…there were still seats in the auditorium! Regretful because people who didn’t come missed out on a fantastic sermon. Pastor Joshua Lee said it has been nine months since he last preached on Sunday. So, he is very pregnant. LOL! It must have been a long time since I heard Pastor Continue Reading
