The Speak Peace Lyrics is inspired by Psalm 23:4 and Mark 4:39.

Both verses are about being at peace in the midst of storms and fear. Just like the Serenity quote above. Serenity is not freedom from the storm.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.
Psalm 23:4For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:39
But, peace is not about ignoring the fear and storms, like an ostrich sticjing its head into the sand.
So, how can I experience peace amidst the storm?
On my own, I cannot.
In Psalm 23, the reason I can walk through the valley of the shadow of death without fear is Jesus. He is with me. His rod and staff comfort me.
Only Jesus can speak peace into my heart. I am learning to see Jesus’ love for me every day. He will deliver, He will provide because His arm is mighty to save.
In daily life, it means believing that red traffic lights are there to allow me to rest my feet. A driver who cuts in front of me abruptly is really in a rush and his mind is full of cares that he forgot his manners.
My projects will be completed on time and every hiccup that arises allow me to make them better.
I am learning to act according to peace in any situation instead of reacting to fear, anxiety and irritation.

Though I go through waters and I walk through fire I'll not be dismayed now will I be afraid For You will deliver, You will provide Your arm is mighty to save Though I walk through moments of weakness and pain Your faithfulness rises as sure as the sun You are my shepherd, You know me by name You carry me in Your arms I'm not my own, I am bought with a price Hidden in You, I know victory is mine I will give thanks, Jesus, I'll guard my heart As You fight my battles, speak peace to the storm Hallelujah, hallelujah Hallelu, hallelujah, hallelujah You will deliver, You will provide
Your arm is mighty to save
